Hayley is doing drunk Shakespeare for the first time with Kulturkannon theatre company.

I have always had a soft spot for Drunk Shakespeare since I saw it at the Edinburgh Fringe. Furthermore, I love this company and their process. They rehearsed us once — one full day. We blocked the scenes, did a run with some tech, and that was it. It is both a super low commitment rehearsal process, with the pay off of working at performance level. The benefits? You get to learn how to make choices extremely quickly, learn a Shakespeare play you maybe never got the chance to work on before, train your listening, and trust your impulses.

I have been doing all of my text work at home, and prepping the scene from my end, having come in to my scene partner making the scene work from their end. I am listening and present on stage, because I am not quite sure what is going to happen next!
Add alcoholic shots to that…and we got ourselves some malarkey fun. Let’s see how it goes tomorrow!
